We are recruiting five ‘One Data Science’ Fellows!

We are looking for five PhD students to get involved in an innovative Widening Participation project to provide prospective A-Level students from across the UK with greater insight into UCL’s degree programmes related to data science and computer science.


You will help organise and run three 2-hour virtual ‘One Data Science’ events for A-Level students, which will be run over 3 weeks in July 2022, hosted by the UCL Institute of Health Informatics.


You will have the opportunity to engage with A-Level students from underserved and underrepresented groups to inspire them to pursue higher education in Data Science. A detailed agenda for the events will be provided, as well as full guidance on what your role in running the events will entail. Practical experience gained could be useful for your CV.


Eligibility:

PhD students who are proficient in working with the R programming language


Application deadline: 9 May 2022 (5pm BST)


Start date of the position: Available to start immediately


Role: Prepare, organise, and run three 2-hour events. The dates of the events are:

· Week 1: Monday 4th July 2022

· Week 2: Monday 11th July 2022

· Week 3: Monday 18th July 2022


*** Guidance will be provided by the team leads.


Salary: One-off payment of £500 at the end of the project


Location: Remote working


Reporting to: Alvina Lai, Natalie Fitzpatrick, Albert Henry and Rini Veeravalli
