Learn Data Science by doing, not reading

At the end of our widening participation One Data Science programme, we asked students how confident they are now to talk about data science and use the R programming language.

Students had zero experience in R before our programme.

Here’s what they said.

One student commented:

“I thought this programme was really well organised and being able to work one on one with a fellow meant I could focus on and improve my R programming. It was an amazing programme, and I really enjoyed it! Only thing I’d say to improve is if we could have a few extra minutes in the breakout rooms.”

Now that the students have some data science experience, we asked them to list 3-5 keywords about what they think data science is.
