Alvina won the most thought-provoking Lightning Talk at the HDR UK One Institute Conference

Alvina gave a 3-minute presentation on “Real-time hospital cancer data, excess deaths and a question for the Prime Minister”.

She discussed weekly changes in cancer services which showcases hospital data from eight hospitals in the UK.

She described a model, which estimates direct and indirect excess deaths that may occur in patients with cancer and potential impact of this work on both policy and society.
