We are a multidisciplinary research group innovating at the interface of large-scale real-world health datasets. Moving beyond the siloed nature of research and the ‘one disease at a time’ approach, our work spans 300+ physical and mental health conditions involving 21 clinical specialties. Our research on the impact of COVID-19 on excess deaths in patients with cancer and multimorbidity led to the filming of a BBC Panorama Documentary on Britain’s Cancer Crisis, highlighting the impact of delayed cancer diagnosis and treatment on patient outcomes. This research received national recognition, in the form of a Royal College of Physicians Research Award, for contributions to significant improvements in health outcomes and the quality of patient care.
